How Blurbit treats publishers

Blurbit is a reader app. Members save articles, rate them, and follow "voices" — curated feeds from publishers and readers. We are on the side of people who read, which puts us on the side of the people they read.

A blurb is not a summary

A blurb here is what a blurb is on a book: enough honest context to decide whether the piece deserves your time. It is written to carry a reader to a sound decision — into deep pieces that earn it, past clickbait that doesn't. A blurb never replaces reading the article.

We send readers, not data

When a Blurbit reader opens your article, they arrive at your site as normal traffic, countable in your own analytics. There is no publisher dashboard of reader behavior, no tracking pixels, no read receipts. What our readers read is their business.

Our fetchers are honest

Blurbit's own fetching identifies itself, so you can tell it from AI crawlers — and block it, if you choose:

• Blurbit/0.1 (+https://blurbit.io/publishers) — app fetches (author pages, bundles, favicons).
• Blurbit-Peer/1.0 (+https://blurbit.io/publishers) — feed ingest for hosted voices.

When a reader explicitly saves a link, resolution of that link acts as the reader's own agent — the way their browser would. We never impersonate search-engine or social crawlers.

The banlist

The one hard rule in Blurbit's network: hosted voices that carry content-farm slop, plagiarized or AI-regurgitated material, or abusive feeds are removed, with the reason published. The list is currently empty.
